FAQ´s
When should I have a Sport Massage?
Any moment is good to have a Sport Massage, as it can help to reduce the muscular tension that accumulates from our normal activities. However, it could be ideal to get one if you are feeling particularly stiff, or have aches and pains in one or more parts of your body.
If you are someone who practises regular physical activity, you are likely to feel some form of soreness or aches pretty much all the time, as the fatigue keeps building up in your muscles. Getting a Sport Massage at the right time, or even on a regular basis, could help you to prevent such minor conditions turning into potential injuries, because you will recover your normal range of motion and abilities to perform the specific technique properly.
Is Sport Massage painful?
During the treatment we can find “trigger points”, which are hyper-irritable nodules in the taut bands of the skeletal muscle’s fascia. Releasing the tension from these areas can be uncomfortable, but it will ease as we work on the area. It is very important that you always communicate how you feel and when the discomfort goes beyond your comfort range.
How will I feel after a Sport Massage?
Each person reacts differently to Sports Massage but there are normally 3 stages that will take place after the treatment:
Immediately after you should feel relaxed and relieved. You will likely have a bigger range of motion and less tension and pain in the treated area.
1 to 3 days after you might feel some ache and discomfort as the tissue recovers and everything settles down.
It is after those first few days when you will begin to feel the true benefits of the Sport Massage. The ache feeling will have started to fade and the tension and pain you had might have completely disappeared so that can perform at your maximum level again.
